Scarborough Bluffs 7th Annual Pumpkin Parade

Sandown Park comes alive once again with neighbourhood pumpkins on November 1st!

Each year, on November 1st, Toronto’s pumpkins shine brightly for one last night in parks across the city and we are SO excited to be back at Sandown Park in Cliffside at 50 Natal Ave. (Midland Ave & Kingston Rd) to enjoy the neighbourhood pumpkins as they proudly ‘parade’ for our wonderful community!

Pumpkins can be dropped off any time between 6pm and 9pm on November 1st, and we will have volunteers on hand to help you place and light your creation!

No pumpkin? No problem! Come by to say hello and see your community’s creativity!

All pumpkins will then be composted in a City provided bin following the event!

This year we will be doing a random draw for some SBCA swag!

Contest is open to anyone who drops off a pumpkin at our parade, so be sure to see a member of the SBCA to learn how to enter!

Why do we host a Pumpkin Parade?

Because we absolutely LOVE seeing the community come together, and when you throw in some of the cutest, scariest, funniest and most creative pumpkins into the mix…it’s MAGICAL!!!

We can’t wait to see you all on November 1st and continue this fantastic tradition!

Join us for our 6th Annual Pumpkin Parade!

Bring out your pumpkins, and light up Sandown Park. We request that you keep yourselves appropriately distanced when viewing the pumpkins.

This year we will be doing a random draw for prize packs. It’s open to anyone who drops off a pumpkin at our parade! See a member of the SBCA to learn how to enter!

Why do we host a Pumpkin Parade? It’s a chance for us to meet the community in a community-built event. It’s about sharing and admiring people’s creations, seeing kids play with new and old friends and sometimes we’re lucky enough to see a second go-round of costumes! The founder of Toronto’s Pumpkin Parade feels the same way. See her interview here.

We look forward to seeing you November 1st!

Virtual Pumpkin Parade 2020

In this year of social Distancing, the families of the Scarborough Bluffs did not forget to celebrate and have fun on Halloween. All of these 130+ photos were submitted by the families of our area. We have to admit, the creativity and resourcefulness of the community really shows!

Enjoy the video. We’re looking forward to seeing you next year!

We had so many great submissions, we will be announcing winners in the next few days.

Give your Jack o’Lantern a second chance to shine … online!

This year, we’re unable to gather in person to admire the community’s pumpkin creations, so we’re taking the parade online in the form of a Virtual Pumpkin Parade video.

Email your Halloween photos (pumpkins or decorations) by Oct 30th to halloween@sbca.ca and we’ll share them via our video parade that will air on Nov 1st! The best submissions will win a PRIZE (gift cards from a selection of local businesses in our Community) See our Facebook page for more information.

Please submit parade photos by Oct 30 to be featured.

Videos will be shared on social media.

UPDATE:

We will be giving away $25 gift cards to these great Bluffs Community businesses – PLUS a Scarborough Bluffs hoodie for costume (kid-size only)!

3rd Annual Pumpkin Parade!

Sandown Park came alive with pumpkins on Nov 1st

Halloween night was cold, windy and wet. What a relief to have it dry up in time for our pumpkin parade!

We had a number of pumpkins arrive before 6 and by the time we were ready to start, we had a good turn out!

Taking advantage of walking their dogs AND dropping off pumpkins!

3rd Annual Pumpkin Parade is just a week away!

Give your pumpkin one last time to shine at Sandown Park. No pumpkin? No problem! It’s your chance to see what your friends and neighbours have created! The event runs from 6-9pm, and the City will compost the pumpkins after the event.

Bring a tea light for your pumpkin and wear something warm! This event runs rain or shine…er moonlight!

Sandown Park is located at 50 Natal Ave., just north of Kingston Rd. Accessible by the 20 Cliffside bus, and a short walk from the 12 Kingston Rd.
